Two years later he dropped out and moved to Manhattan, where he worked as a bar back, security guard and restaurant parking valet. He then enrolled in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts to study Drama and English.
While at college, Gregg co-founded off-Broadway non-profit Atlantic Theater Company, in which he later served as artistic director. He started his professional acting career in the late ’80s, taking minor roles in the films “Lip Service”, “Things Change” and “Fat Man and Little Boy”. He went on to land small parts in the ’90s films such as “I Love Trouble”, “The Usual Suspects”, “Above Suspicion”, “The Spanish Prisoner”, “Six Ways to Sunday” and “Magnolia”. He also made guest appearances in ’90s television series’, including “Law and Order”, “Shannon’s Deal”, “The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles”, “The Commish” and “Touched by an Angel”. The early 2000s saw Gregg in the films “Lovely & Amazing”, “The Human Stain” and “In Good Company”. He made several guest appearances in popular television series such as “Sex and the City”, “Sports Night”, “The Practice”, “Will & Grace”, “The Shield” and “The West Wing”.
