April 30, 1982About
This Jersey girl has been acting since she was a toddler. At age 8, Dunst appeared in her first film, Bonfire of the Vanities, with Bruce Willis in 1990, but it was her turn as a 12-year-old vampire smooching Brad Pitt in 1994’s Interview with the Vampire that shot her to stardom.
Dunst followed up her blockbuster film with other hits, including Jumanji (1995), The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Bring It On (2000). She made her debut in the coveted role of MJ in the original Spider-Man trilogy opposite Tobey Maguire in 2002. They made sequels in 2004 and 2007.
As Hollywood’s TV industry started creating more content than ever, the actress moved to the small screen. She starred in FX’s Fargo, which earned her an Emmy nomination, before taking on the roles of star and producer on Showtime’s On Becoming a God in Central Florida.
Dunst previously dated Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal, but Jesse Plemons stole her heart when they met on the Fargo set. Us Weekly confirmed their engagement in January 2017. The Power of the Dog costars welcomed their first son, Ennis, in May 2018, and they expanded their family when son James Robert arrived in April 2021. Us confirmed in July 2022 that Dunst and Plemons had secretly tied the knot after six years together.
